You Can Make a Difference!

Everyone knows someone who has been touched by suicide.

We have to start talking about it.

Here are ways you can make a difference:

When we are alone, hope can be hard to find. But when we stand together, hope is all around us. Support a friend, family member or yourself as a suicide attempt survivor on our Wall of Hope. Or, pay tribute to a loved one lost to suicide by including their name on our Wall of Remembrance.

Support A Survivor –  Wall of Hope

Honor a Loved One –  Wall of Remembrance

We have screenings of the film planned around the country. Visit our screenings page to find an event near you. Don’t see a screening in your area? Consider bringing the film to your community. Read more below!

We are touring the country with the film and creating spaces and opportunities for people to come together and talk about suicide. We’ve organized over 30 screenings between September and December 2017 and we have dozens of requests for many more in 2018. We hope to bring the film to underserved populations that might not otherwise have access to it.

We are seeking funds to support our screening tour so we can continue to organize events around the country. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to our fiscal sponsors, The International Documentary Association.

Organize a local screening of THE S WORD and gather your campus, community members and colleagues to watch the film and help raise awareness for suicide prevention. Organizers across the country are hosting grassroots events and we invite you to join them. Simply complete the short screening survey and we will be in touch about your request ASAP.

Suicide is the tenth leading cause of death in the United States.

Suicide alone is not the problem, it’s the deafening silence that surrounds it.
